Wedding Stress Is Inevitable — How Yoga Helps Engaged Couples Stay Grounded
Engagement is one of the most exciting seasons of your life — and one of the most destabilizing. Even the most organized, emotionally intelligent couples can feel overwhelmed during wedding planning. The good news? Stress may be inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Gratituesday 2.24.26 - Watching the Snow
We were hit a few weeks ago, and then we got a record-breaking bomb cyclone and blizzard the last 2 days. From social media I saw the stories of flight cancelations, but also the sledding in local parks. Lot of reflection makes a nice segue to my gratitude and more lists! Want to join me?
Building Boundaries That Actually Work: Walls, Doors, and Windows in Your Relationships
As a premarital counselor, I spend a lot of time talking about boundaries. And I've noticed something: most people know boundaries are important, but they're not quite sure what good boundaries actually look like in practice. So let’s take a deeper dive in!
Morning Rituals to Start Your Wedding Day with Intention
There’s a good chance that there have been months of planning before your wedding day. However, your wedding morning doesn't have to feel like a chaotic sprint to the altar. Creating intentional rituals can help you start this momentous day grounded, present, and connected to what really matters.
Gratituesday 1.13.26 - Adventure Unfolds
I’ve been using The Pattern app more regularly lately. It’s astrology focused, and I use it with a grain of salt. One of the “lens” posts that impacts me now said that I need to trust the change in my life. Um, what??!!
A Couple’s Guide to Aligning in the New Year!
The start of a new year is more than a fresh calendar — it’s an opportunity to reset, reconnect, and realign with the person you love. Whether you’re engaged, newly married, or simply building a life together, intentional goal-setting is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen your relationship.
Vendors I Love: STEPHANIE LAWRENCE PHOTOGRAPHY
I met Stephanie working on a windy ceremony on the rooftop of the Wythe Hotel. When I saw her work, I was like, “wow!” She captures moments in such a genuine way. Without further ado, I’m happy to shine the light on Stephanie from STEPHANIE LAWRENCE PHOTOGRAPHY!
Balancing Wedding Planning and Premarital Counseling
Here’s the truth I see every day in my work as a premarital counselor: wedding planning and premarital counseling don’t compete—they support each other. Let’s talk about how to balance both—without burning out.
Gratituesday 12.30.25 -Where Did the Year Go?
In the fall of every year there are usually lots of repetition of “where did the year go?” However this year, we did monthly Year Compass check-ins, so there was no surprise. There was more intentionality and productivity. But more than anything I’m excited to let go of the things that didn’t serve me in 2025, and get a clean slate in 2026. Who’s with me?

You're planning a wedding in New York City while juggling work deadlines, planning emails, and trying to remember if you actually ate lunch. The last thing you need is bureaucratic confusion about marriage licenses. So let me save you that panic and walk you through exactly what you need to know.
A Simple & Beautiful Winter Solstice Ritual
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year — a moment when the world feels still, quiet, and full of possibility. This ritual is something you can certainly do by yourself. A simple ritual can add meaning and connection without feeling overly spiritual or elaborate. And better yet, this one takes less than ten minutes!
Gratituesday 11.25.25 - Appreciations
This is Thanksgiving week and since I don’t have a family tradition where we go around the table and share what we’re grateful for, I’ll do it here. So as usual, we’ll start with Gratitudes, but add Celebrations and Desires for good measure. Care to join me?
Vendors I Love: GREENER UNIONS
I met Ally at a recent Altared meet-up event in Brooklyn. I was so happy to hear that Ally was offering some sustainability in the wedding industry. As we know there is so much waste, and there are some easy (and low cost) fixes to lower the carbon footprint. Without further ado, I’m happy to shine a light on Ally from GREENER UNIONS.
Vendors I Love: MOMENTSHARE
I met Sarah a few weeks back at a meet-up I read about on Altered. She was so passionate about her business. Sarah was also open to learning about how her platform can best support couples, planners and the wedding industry as a whole. Without further ado, I’m excited to shine the light on Sarah Rieger and MomentShare.
Gratituesday 10.7.25 - Finding Peace
Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the attack of Israel by Hamas. I cannot believe that this war has gone on so long and that there are still hostages in Gaza. I also cannot believe the terrible destruction of a land and its people. I just want peace, but I know that’s really a pipe dream.
The Benefits of Premarital Counseling: Why Gen Z & Millennials Are Breaking Stigmas
When it comes to marriage preparation, the tides are changing. Gen Z and millennial couples are increasingly embracing premarital counseling not as a last resort, but as an essential step toward long-term relationship success. This of course makes my premarital counselor heart so full!
Gratituesday 9.16.25 - Learning to Say Goodbye
Last week, I got a message from the shelter that someone was interested in my foster cat, Bendito and she came to take him home a few days later. Did I feel regret - you betcha! However I knew in heart that I was doing the right thing.
I was doing the hard thing - which was saying goodbye.
Wedding Yoga: Goddess Pose
As I create sequences and practices for Wedding Yoga, there are some poses that I tend to come back to over and over again. One of those is Goddess or Utkata Konasana. This wide legged squat empowers practitioners to experience inner strength, willpower, courage, and confidence.
Gratituesday 8.26.25 - It’s About Time
Right now I feel like I have plenty of time to do the things I want to do. As well as no time at all. Time is an interesting concept and how we interact with it says a lot about us. I had a mostly free day to get my tasks done and I feel I was productive. However, I still have a decent-sized to do list staring me in the face.
Vendors I Love: BLB EVENTS
I met Brittney and her team working on a wedding a few years ago. I loved the calm energy and just the way the the team worked together. Everything was organized and collaborative. I was so excited when they reached out about another wedding for this year. Again I was wowed by their attention to detail and strong design sense. Without further ado, I’d love to shine a little light on BRITTNEY BARTLING of BLB EVENTS.
