Vendors I Love: PARTY WITH NAS

I worked with Nastia recently on a wedding at Wythe Hotel. She was super organized and was like a silent ninja. Getting everything done, having all of the necessary conversations and making sure that everything was going to plan. It was masterful! Without further ado, I’m excited to shine a well deserved spotlight on NASTIA GOLDSTEIN from PARTY WITH NAS!

What was the path that led you to become a planner/coordinator? What title is best?

In my 20s and early 30s, I worked as an associate producer for a true crime show, and then as an insurance claims investigator. Both jobs taught me to be brave in my interactions, and how to get the right pieces in place to move a project across the finish line. At the same time, I always had a restaurant job on the side. At one point, I decided to go “all in” on hospitality. I worked in leadership positions in events first at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and then at the Wythe Hotel. I really credit the Wythe for fostering my love of weddings and my knack for logistics. Eventually, I set off on my own, and what an adventure it's been! I often call myself a wedding planner because it's the word everyone knows. But personally the word I feel best encompasses my work is "producer."

I love that. I’ll start calling you a wedding producer!

So, what excites you about weddings?

From a production standpoint, I thrive on showing up with all my ducks in a row and watching a long-discussed plan come to fruition.

Emotionally, I love seeing multi-generational families gather to celebrate. Coming from a fairly small family that's spread all over the world, witnessing large family groups coming together gets me every time. And the recognition that a wedding may be the only time that this particular combination of people comes together is really something special.

What do you look for in a couple?

I love a couple that trusts the process and wants to have a good time.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

I recently received a very heartfelt email from a mother of the bride. It wasn't just a cursory thank you note; I could tell she put a lot of thought into writing it. It felt very special. I am also always honored when venues compliment my work and ask me to come back. Having been on the venue side for so long, it feels good to know that I am welcome!

I know those relationships are key. Congratulations! Moving forward, what do you desire for your business?

To be an event planning & design studio. I'm close! I recently moved into a studio space and am working hard on bringing more design and crafting into my work. I'm way behind on posting, but stay tuned for some cool stuff I've done this year!

What are you grateful for?

First and foremost, my assistant Darby. She is incredible and I would not be able to do this work without her. And, the great community of vendors and venue managers I've worked with. It's really felt like a whole new chapter of making connections and friends.

Any recent cause for celebration?

My husband I recently celebrated 7 years of marriage!

Happy Anniversary! Here’s to many, many more!
