Vendors I Love: BLB Events
I met Brittney and her team working on a wedding a few years ago. I loved the calm energy and just the way the the team worked together. Everything was organized and collaborative. I was so excited when they reached out about another for this year. Again I was wowed by their attention to detail and strong design sense. Without further ado, I’m shining a little light on BRITTNEY BARTLING of BLB EVENTS.
What was the path that led you to event planning?
I've always been organized, detail oriented and the planner of my group of friends. I was very involved with different organizations and clubs at school, and loved to plan and organize activities and volunteer events Then I became more professionally interested in event planning in college when I interned for the Naples Chamber of Commerce and helped plan their gala and one of their golf tournaments.
Once I moved to New York, I worked in various industries, but really felt my skills were best utilized in project management type roles. I was primarily in office management or other roles that allowed me to spearhead various projects and events. Ultimately I decided I wanted to get more events experience, primarily weddings. So I began freelancing as a venue manager. which led me deeper down the events world path.
What excites you about weddings?
I love how each one is so unique and different. There are two people with different backgrounds, cultures, experiences and they're bringing their families and closest loved ones together for this important celebration. Weddings really represent the couple and on the day, it's magical to see it all come together and feel the love in the room!
What do you look for in a couple?
Connection and trust are the biggest things. I truly want them to trust in my ability to bring their wedding ideas to life and know I have their back every step of the way -- especially on their wedding day and weekend. We work hours and hours together to plan this important event so we really need to like and get each other. Which leads to having a strong connection.
Sometimes that trust is there from the first call, other times we build it over time. When there's a strong connection with a client, it allows us to plan better. For example, when those connections are there, I can just pinpoint the vendors that would work best with a couple. It starts to feel less like work and more like we're in this together!
What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?
My favorite compliments are when my couples and their families see how much I really care about making their wedding the best it could be.

What do you desire for your business?
To keep growing, but always be small but mighty. I personally would like to do a handful of weddings a year that are really impactful and important to me. It'll allow me to really give that focus and attention to those clients.
Others on my team would also have their own clients and they would feel a similar experience. We want to continue to make wedding planning fun so our clients get to enjoy each other and their guests on the wedding day.
What are you grateful for?
My clients this year made me feel seen and really feel my worth. I’m very grateful for that!
Any recent cause for celebration?
This year has been a year of accomplishment and growth. I’ve had quite a few large events this year that were fun and successful. So overall this year feels really important and something to recognize.
That’s awesome! Congratulations.
