Desire Wednesday 7.25.18 - National Days of Celebration
Yesterday was National Tequila Day, today is National Wine & Cheese Day. Tomorrow is National Coffee Milkshake Day. What's with these National Days of Celebration? In all honest, some of them are completely stupid. But then, what's wrong with celebrating EVERY DAY? I am currently writing a blog post on RITUAL. So while my work centers around major life-cycle rituals, we shouldn't discount celebrating the small things. Heck, I do it on a weekly basis. But why not celebrate something every DAY? Last night I made a tequila cocktail for my writer's group to sip as we shared our work. This evening I sip on sangria and nibble on cheese because they're tasty and I not only taught a great yoga class, I signed the contract on the apartment that will hopefully be my new home. Celebration. But as today is Wednesday, let's start with desires. Care to join me?
DESIRES
1. For the seller's side of my home buying experience to release the "crazy!"
2. To either be a little cooler or less humid
3. For Kristin to be wrong about seeing a mouse in my apartment - oy, I really cannot go through that again!
4. For my hamstrings to not hurt later after this morning's yoga practice - even though I know they will!
5. To be better about being informed about what's going on around me
GRATITUDES
1. The supportive group of women in my Writer's Group
2. Catering leftovers
3. My air conditioner
4. A strong circle of officiants and wedding colleagues who regularly refer couples
5. Coffee and wine!
CELEBRATIONS
1. Drinking more water
2. Time to read and sleep
3. Sending out my newsletter this week
4. Writing Chapter 2 of my book
5. Leading my second PMC workshop and scheduling a PMC AND a Zen Bride workshop in September
That's it, folks. Nice and easy. Feel free to comment or question below. And of course, you are welcome and encouraged to share your own. Are there any National Days that you celebrate each year? Which are your favorites? And just in case it's not clear, I will be making Coffee Milkshakes tomorrow. Let me know if you want one!
