Vendors I Love - RYAN BROWN CATERING

I've known Ryan for almost 3 years. Believe it or not, I used to work for him as a party chef. While I'm not in his kitchen any longer, I'm so glad that our paths continue to cross. The wedding industry is enormous and tiny at the same time. I constantly meet new folks, but the community of colleagues I'm surrounded by is very warm and supportive. There is so much I appreciate about Ryan and the way he works. He has interesting & diversified menus, a great aesthetic and a desire to use local, fresh ingredients. Without further ado, I'd like to introduce RYAN BROWN!

What was the path that led you to become a chef/caterer?

My love of food was ignited when I lived in Paris after graduating from NYU. After that, I decided to go to the French Culinary Institute and study as much as I could. That's translated into working at some great NYC restaurants, and then eventually launching Ryan Brown Catering in 1999.

What excites you about weddings?

That each one is different, new, and it's never boring! We get to work with some of the most interesting and fun couples around, and helping them fulfill their dream wedding is truly a pleasure!

What do you look for in a couple?

A love of great, fresh food is a good start! It's always fun to get a couple who wants to be a little playful with their menu.

What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?

It's such a great compliment when former wedding clients make a point to contact us saying that guests raved about the food and service.

What do you desire for your business?

Our goal is always to go above and beyond for each client, so hopefully this in turn helps us to attract great clientele, work at great venues, and continue working with top notch planners and other wedding professionals.

What are you grateful for?

Definitely grateful to be able to cook great food for a living, and that I get to be creative in coming up with custom dishes. It's also wonderful to be able to take part in helping our couples live out their dream weddings.

Any recent cause for celebration?

I just celebrated my one year wedding anniversary!
