Gratituesday 3.28.23 - Welcome Home!

So, I bought an apartment! Welcome home, you may say. However I purchased my co-op in the beginning of 2019 and after a lengthy renovation process, I moved in at the very end of that year. For those who know me, you know the ordeal I went through. When COVID hit my contractor split leaving a whole bunch of things undone - including TWO permits with the city. Against my better judgement I hired another plumber in 2021 that was recommended to me by my original UNLICENSED plumber. And now OVER two years later, or over FOUR years from purchase I finally got my Letter of Completion from the city yesterday. Welcome home, indeed!

It’s been quite a ride, and I am more than happy to help anyone navigate. The end of this journey encourages a whole lot of reflection. The failures and the successes. So here I go with my weekly lists. Care to join me? Coolio! I’ll start. The comment section is always open to share your own.

1. The ability to take sick days with PTO

2. Catering leftovers

3. Living in a city with good public transportation (most of the time)

4. My parents for “walking me home” on FaceTime most nights

5. A washing machine and dryer in my apartment

Celebrations

1. FINALLY getting the inspection and sign-off for my gas line

2. Keeping my sore throat and cough at bay

3. 1086 days of language lessons on Duolingo

4. Lots of consultations with new couples this week

5. Three successful dinner parties, and more on the way!

Desires

1. A fully clean and organized apartment (I could probably break this down, but alas I won’t this week)

2. Creating a comprehensive marketing plan for my business

3. Back to regular reading

4. Hanging plants in my kitchen window

5. For the vendors I work with on weddings, to list me as officiant without me having to ask
