Gratituesday 10.2.18 - Take it SLOW

Gratituesday-2.png

I speak to people all the time that are overwhelmed. Even this evening, the couple that I met with was already overwhelmed with the options around wedding planning and their wedding is OVER a YEAR away! So I encouraged them to Take It Slow. There are tons of options in all we do and our lives are for the most part fast-paced. What can we do to slow down? Since I had time this week, I did a lot of walking. As New Yorkers we walk a ton anyway, but I'm talking fit-bit level walking.

On average, I walk about 3000 steps a day - according to my iPhone - but 3 days this past week, I walked closer to 10,000. I could have easily hopped on a train or a bus, but I decided to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather and walk. I not only got some exercise, but it encouraged me to take in the sights and sounds around me. Living in a city like New York, there are so many wonderful things to see. Architecture, history and the crazy people that live here. On Friday I had a catering job in the Brooklyn Navy Yards and when I had a moment, I stepped on one of the balconies on the 15th floor to take in the view of the rooftop farm of Brooklyn Grange and the city skyline beyond.

What can you take in, when you take it slow? A little reflection also allowed me to create my weekly lists. Without further ado, here they are. Enjoy.
