Gratituesday 8.7.18 - The Dog Days of Summer

Gratituesday-2.png

Gosh, it's hot. We're in the dog days of summer. And just like the heat caused Atlantans to slow down, I feel like I'm moving through molasses. I get a list of things done, then I want to take a nap! In New York, we move quickly. Heck, I move quickly. But right now my brain is slow and by body isn't far behind.

I looked up the origin of 'the dog days of summer,' and it's not about canines at all. The dog refers to a star. Canis major, the "dog" star, Sirius. But it is known as a period marked by lethargy, inactivity, or laziness, but also fever and catastrophe. Oh, great. As if obstacles weren't enough...now I get catastrophe. That's awesome. I am able to counterbalance the negative with lots of good - and even have some new desires this week! Go me! Care to join me in my weekly lists? I dare you.
