I've had the pleasure of working with Meg and her team a number of times over the past two years. I love her positivity, as well as the ease she brings to all events. I know that with Meg everything is organized and prepped and if there are any snafus, they are handled quickly and gracefully. While we both adore weddings, we share the same view that the MARRIAGE is certainly more important. But enough from me, without further ado, I am pleased to introduce MEG HOTCHKISS!
What was the path that led you to become an event planner?
I joke that I've been an event planner since I can remember. When I was little and my friends wanted to play "wedding" I never wanted to be the bride, I just wanted to be the boss of the whole thing, making sure it was perfect. As a grown-up, I wound my way through various jobs and ended up as a corporate event planner, which led to my first wedding. The minute I walked in to coordinate the wedding day, I knew I was home.
What excites you about weddings?
I love seeing everything come together - all the months of planning, all of the emails & spreadsheets that turn into this magic environment to celebrate love & community. Watching the transformation of a venue into what a couple envisions never ceases to inspire me.

What do you look for in a couple?
I always look for a couple that recognizes that although a big deal, a wedding is just one day & a marriage is forever. I connect best with couples who aren't afraid to plan a day that speaks to who they are as a couple.
What is the greatest compliment you’ve ever received?
A few years ago, one of my brides referred to me as "human xanax," which I thought was a great compliment! I pride myself on my ability to remain calm & collected no matter what sort of wedding-day craziness I'm sorting out. I always aim to be a source of calming reassurance to my couples and their friends & family before the ceremony, when everyone is a pile of nerves and emotions. So, yeah, kind of like xanax!
What do you desire for your business?
I hope to continue connecting with amazing couples and planning fun, love-filled celebrations. I'm also hoping to add additional coordinators to my team so that we can bring wedding magic to even more couples!

What are you grateful for?
I'm so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what I love as a career, and for the wonderful couples and amazing vendors who make it all possible. I'm also so thankful for my close-knit and supportive family & my two adorable puppies.
Any recent cause for celebration?
My husband & I just celebrated six years of home-ownership. I'm happy to say that our marriage has survived (and strengthened) through 6 years of DIY renovation projects that we've undertaken in making a little fixer upper our home!
